I really suck at this

Blogging is apparently a hard thing for me to do lately, since I have been spacing my writing by a month at a time. But I haven't had blog topics...until this morning.

I noticed last week that an awful lot of women (and men) are breaking out the sandals for the summer, and letting their feet out for a breath of fresh (or not so fresh?) air. I find it a bit early personally, but I have nothing against the sandal re-birth except when I see...

1. Naked toe nails. This comes from my mama dukes, because she made it a rule from as early as I can remember, that no naked toes are allowed. If she can see your toes, they must have polish on them. Otherwise, no matter how manicured your feet are (which they often aren't if they have no polish) they end up looking like this;
And seriously, I threw up a little in my mouth when I posted this picture...so please polish your toes. Au natural doesn't apply to feet.

And another pet peeve that I see soo commonly these days, is people buying sandals that don't fit! If your toes are hanging over the front of them like this;
Or if your heels are hanging off the back like this;
Than the shoes weren't worth the $5.99 you paid for them at Walmart!!

That's what I thought about on the train and on the subway this morning. And I saw many shining examples of what I am talking about. If I was a little more sly, I would have tried to pull out the camera phone and expose them to the world.

On the bright side, the weather is beautiful!

Sick, Sick and Sick. I seriously need a pedicure which is why I am still wearing my closed toed crocks.

Your mother also takes this policy with her into the workplace and refuses to let anyone in with sandles if they do have polish. However, she refuses to add an extra 20 to your pay cheque to have my little Asian lady work her magic.

I must say that I disagree. While I do find that picture of the toenails disgusting, I think that if your feet are looking at least reasonable, you should be allowed to go without polish (who heard of a straight man polishing his toenails?)

I think a good rule of thumb is that if you would be ok sleeping with someone who's toes look a certain way, then those toes are ok for exposure to the world, if they fall below that mark, maybe hide them.
